Microneedle Therapy

Microneedle therapy is a new procedure designed to stimulate the body’s production of collagen and elastin, natural substances that work to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin. After cleaning and numbing the skin, we apply a collagen-stimulating product. Then, a small disposable hand held roller is used to pierce the skin, making it more receptive to absorption and causing it to heal more rapidly. After the treatment, a soothing mask is used to protect and hydrate the skin.

Microneedle therapy, also known as collagen induction therapy, is effective as an anti-aging procedure because it:

  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Minimizes  pores
  • Helps to erase stretch marks and surgical and acne scars.
  • Stabilizes pigment
  • Controls cellulite
  • Restores and revitalizes hair

Microneedle therapy is successfully used on all areas of the scalp, face, and body, even on the fragile skin around the neck, mouth, and eyes. It also has the advantage of working effectively on all types and shades of skin.

How long does microneedle therapy take to work?

Recovery from microneedle therapy only takes a few days and visible improvement in skin condition is visible as early as 4 to 6 weeks after treatment. Microneedling, with its high rate of safety and success, is often combined with other medical skin treatments. Collagen induction typically produces maximal skin tightening and rejuvenation within 3 to 6 months after a series of treatment sessions.

Botox®

BOTOX®, one of the staples of medical aesthetics, has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use since 2002. A Botox treatment involves the administration of  fine-needle injections into carefully targeted muscles on the face. The procedure takes only about 10 minutes and can produce substantial improvement in the appearance of facial skin, often making patients appear as much as 10 years younger than their chronological age. A prescription medication, also used for other medical purposes, Botox is renowned for improving facial appearance by relaxing muscles and keeping them from contracting. Botox is an extremely effective treatment for:

  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Crow’s feet (around the eyes)
  • Frown lines
  • Lip and chin lines
  • Lines around the neck and at the corners of the mouth

Patients who undergo Botox treatments report only minimal discomfort; no anesthesia is required. Improved appearance is usually fully visible after 3 to 7 days. Patients are advised to avoid alcohol for at least a week before the procedure; aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications should also be avoided for 2 weeks prior to Botox injections to lessen the risk of bruising. The pleasing results of a Botox treatment are not permanent; gradually, lines and wrinkles will reappear, though often in a less severe form. The good news is that patients can undergo repeated Botox treatments over time.

Neurotoxins for Skin Care

Botox is not the only neurotoxin used to relax muscles of the face to rejuvenate appearance. Several Botox-type injectables are used at Dedicated to Health, any of which improve the appearance of the skin. One of a variety of Injected neurotoxins may be most appropriate in a particular case, making the patient not only look younger but less anxious or concerned. Both aspects make the individual more attractive and socially viable. Most commonly, neurotoxins are administered to diminish:

  • Frown lines, also known as glabellar lines
  • Crow’s feet, the wrinkles around the eyes
  • Forehead creases
  • Lines at the corners of the mouth

Dermal Fillers

Dedicated to Health is  always at the cutting-edge of medical aesthetic procedures. In addition to Botox, we also make use of a number of dermal fillers in an effort to remove some of the facial evidence of aging. Injected dermal fillers help to restore the youthful fullness of the face, fullness that has been diminished by the loss of subcutaneous fat that naturally occurs during the aging process. A 15-minute dermal filler treatment, administered right in our office can:

  • Greatly reduce smile lines and crow’s feet
  • Plump thin lips
  • Enhance shallow contours
  • Soften facial wrinkles
  • Improve the appearance of recessed scars

There are a great many products used as dermal fillers, such as JUVÉDERM® XC, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC, and JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC, JUVÉDERM VOLLURE any of which may be used to rejuvenate your skin at Dedicated to Health.

Individuals who are predisposed to wrinkle by heredity, or those who have damaged their skin by exposing themselves to excessive sunlight or smoking, may be particularly good candidates for dermal fillers, though anyone seeking more youthful skin can benefit. Like other medical aesthetic procedures, injecting dermal fillers involves only brief medical intervention — typically a 15-minute treatment. While patients should expect to experience some slight redness and swelling for a few days to up to a week after treatment, by the time 2 to 4 weeks have passed, they should be delighted by their rejuvenated appearance.

KYBELLA®

kybella

KYBELLA® is an injectable cosmetic preparation designed to target the area commonly known as the “double chin.” Kybella is the first injectable liposuction that will PERMANENTLY REMOVE YOU UNWANTED FAT. By removing moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), Kybella works extremely well as an anti-aging substance to improve facial appearance. The only FDA- approved injectable treatment for this particular purpose, Kybella rejuvenates the skin by destroying fat cells beneath the surface.

The administration of Kybella® as a series of injections is safe and successful. The destroyed fat cells are naturally absorbed by the patient’s body; patients can expect to see visible results after two to four treatment sessions. Most people require 3-6 treatment sessions  no less than one month apart for optimal results.

We customize Kybella® treatments for every patient based on the amount of fat under the chin. At Dedicated each patient receives a customized care package for pre and post treatment to enhance the service. For each service we also have a team approach and two providers will work with your to make sure you have the most comfortable experience. We at Dedicated have this down to a science with having PERFORMED instruction for nearly 40 clinics nationally over the past 10 years in many innovative anti-aging procedures.

There have been more than 20 studies showing the safety and effectiveness of Kybella®. Kybella was unanimously approved by the FDA.  If you take certain medications, such as antiplatelets and anticoagulants, you may not be a good candidate for Kybella®. Be sure to tell us about any medicines you take.

Who benefits most from Kybella treatments?

Both men and women may develop double chins as a result of genetics, aging, or weight gain, and many find the problem area resistant to correction, even with weight loss and exercise. For these individuals, Kybella may be an answer to their prayers. At least one study has shown that almost as many people are bothered by double chins as those who are bothered by lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

Correcting a double chin can make patients look younger, slimmer, and more attractive, directing the viewer’s attention away from the flabby chin and toward the animation of the eyes and mouth. In clinical studies, over 68 percent of patients have responded well to Kybella treatment. With Kybella treatments, which typically take from 15 to 20 minutes and are administered right in the clinician’s office, no retreatment is expected to be necessary. This is because once the offending fat cells have been destroyed, those cells can no longer accumulate or store fat.

Can this only be used for my double chin?

Kybella is FDA approved for use in the double chin but can be used off label in many areas where we have pockets of unwanted fat (love handles, bra line, underarm fat, inner thigh, above the knee and more!):

Acne Treatments

Acne, while associated with adolescence, can happen to anyone, even babies. In the teen years, acne is the result of hormonal fluctuations that stimulate excessive oil production. As most of us know from personal experience, acne flare-ups, particularly for those whose acne is inflammatory or cystic, can be not only embarrassing, but distressing, even traumatic. For a percentage of adolescents, acne is severe enough to result in scarring.

Some people, especially women, continue to have problems with acne as their hormones ebb and flow due to menstruation or pregnancy. Hereditary factors also play a role in the severity of acne in men and women. Fortunately, there are now many medical methods to resolve acne issues. In the midst of an outbreak, patients can be helped by topical preparations, certain antibiotics, contraceptive pills or other specialized medications, and photodynamic therapy.

For the emotionally painful residue of acne — acne scarring — dermal fillers and chemical peels are both effective treatments.

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are yet another method of improving the appearance of the skin. At Dedicated Health, we use this treatment to diminish or erase blemishes, acne scars, and wrinkles, as well as to smooth the overall texture of the skin. Chemical peels work this way: a chemical solution is applied to the skin, typically making the skin turn a bit white (known as frosting). Afterwards, the skin crusts and eventually peels off, leaving a layer of refreshed, smoother, less wrinkled skin. Chemical peels can also successfully treats uneven skin pigmentation.

Ultrasonic Cavitation Therapy and Radio Frequency Skin Tightening

These innovative skin therapies are used in combination as an aesthetic procedure to enhance the appearance of the skin. Cavitation therapy forces powerful sound waves into the fat cells just below the skin to promote fat loss. Radio frequency skin tightening (RF) uses radio frequency energy to heat skin tissue and stimulate collagen and elastin production. Used in combination, these techniques remove subdermal fat and remodel the skin, reducing the appearance of loose skin and fine lines.

Ultrasonic Cavitation Therapy and RF Tightening have many advantages, including that they:

  • Present a natural alternative to surgical liposuction
  • Tone and tighten the skin
  • Sculpt and smooth the skin’s surface
  • Detoxify the skin and the fatty tissue beneath it

Administered in 30 to 40 minute sessions, ultrasonic cavitation and RF therapy are safe, effective, and nonsurgical. They have a high rate of success in reducing cellulite and removing fat from problem areas, such as the belly and upper arms. Unlike some of the other medical aesthetic treatments, this combination offers permanent results.
